Most of you are probably already aware of weather forecast links, but I thought I'd share some with you in case you haven't seen these. If you have your own links to share, pass them on!
If you just need a quick forecast for the next several days,
http://www.weather.com is a good source. Weather Underground is also a good source of some interesting forecast links,
http://www.wunderground.com When you're looking for more detailed info, you can't beat the following links.
NOAA Weather reports for within five nautical miles of shore:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine/zone/gtlakes/mqtmz.htm Graphic representation of wave, wind, and weather forecast, for the next week:
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/greatlakes/ It's updated at least hourly, so it's very current. I think this is the most useful weather tool I've found on the web. From the tabs below the map you can select the forecast for wave height and period, wind speed and gusts, weather, and temperature. You can also zoom into specific Great Lakes by clicking on the one you want.
There are Play and Pause controls below the map as well, so you can advance the forecast in three hour increments.
Finally, here's a link to a map of surface water temperatures for the Great Lakes, updated every couple of days:
