The shaft on this one piece wooden paddle is made from ash for rigidity, laminated with cedar to reduce weight, as well as to enhance the natural beauty of this paddle. The spooned blade is made of basswood to keep it light, and is edged with ash for durability. The blade is overlaid with fiberglass to strengthen it. The whole paddle is finished with a coat of epoxy.
